Help & support
Trouble viewing our site?
Start with the check below. It tells you whether your browser can run our store, and what to do if it can't.
Checking your browser…
This takes a moment.
You're browsing inside another app
You opened this link from another app, which uses a simplified browser built into that app. Sign-in and checkout often fail there.
Open this page in your regular browser instead. Tap the … or ⋮ menu in the corner of the screen, then choose Open in browser, Open in Safari, or Open in Chrome.
Cookies are turned off
Your cart and your sign-in both depend on cookies, so the store won't work until they're allowed. Turn cookies on in your browser's privacy settings, then reload this page.
You're on Windows 10
Your browser still gets updates, but Windows 10 itself no longer does. See older computers and phones below for what that means.
Four things to try first
In order. Most problems clear up by step 2.
-
Close your browser completely, then reopen it
Chrome, Edge, and Firefox download updates quietly in the background and install them on restart. Closing one tab isn't enough — quit the whole program, then open it again and return to our site.
-
Turn off ad blockers and privacy extensions on our site
Extensions are small add-ons you install into your browser. Some of them block the scripts our checkout needs, which can leave buttons unresponsive or a page half-loaded.
Quickest test: open a private or incognito window, where extensions are usually switched off, and try again. If it works there, an extension is the cause — allow our site in that extension's settings.
-
Clear your saved site data
An out-of-date copy of a page can stick around after we've made changes. Clearing cached files and cookies forces a clean copy. You'll be signed out of sites afterwards, so have your passwords handy.
Shortcut on most browsers: Ctrl + Shift + Delete on Windows, or ⌘ + Shift + Delete on Mac.
-
Update your browser by hand
If the check above says your browser is out of date, follow the steps for it below.
How to update your browser
Pick yours. Desktop steps first, then phones and tablets.
Google Chrome Windows & Mac
- Click the three dots ⋮ at the top right.
- Choose Help, then About Google Chrome.
- Chrome checks for an update and installs it on its own.
- Click Relaunch to finish.
Microsoft Edge Windows & Mac
- Click Settings and more … at the top right.
- Choose Help and feedback, then About Microsoft Edge.
- Edge checks for an update. If you see Download and install, click it.
- Click Restart to finish.
On Windows, Edge updates can also arrive through Windows Update: Start › Settings › Windows Update › Check for updates.
Mozilla Firefox Windows & Mac
- Click the three lines ☰ at the top right.
- Choose Settings, then General.
- Scroll to Firefox Updates. Firefox shows whether it's current and lets you install a waiting update.
- Click Restart to Update Firefox if prompted.
While you're there, select Automatically install updates so this doesn't come up again.
Safari Mac
Safari is part of macOS, so it updates with your Mac rather than through the App Store.
- Click the Apple menu at the top left.
- Choose System Settings (called System Preferences on older Macs).
- Go to General, then Software Update.
- Install anything listed, then restart if asked.
To see which version you have, open Safari and choose Safari › About Safari from the menu bar.
Sometimes a Safari update is offered without the full macOS upgrade. If Software Update lists a new macOS version, click More info — if Safari appears as a separate item, you can untick macOS and install just Safari. If it doesn't appear, updating macOS is the only way to move Safari forward.
Chrome, Edge, or Firefox iPhone & iPad
- Open the App Store.
- Tap your profile picture at the top right.
- Pull down to refresh the list, then look under Available Updates.
- Tap Update next to your browser.
If your browser isn't in that list, it's already up to date.
Safari iPhone & iPad
Safari updates come with iOS, not from the App Store.
- Open Settings.
- Tap General, then Software Update.
- Tap Download and Install if an update is offered.
If your iPhone or iPad can't run the current version of iOS, Safari can't be updated any further on that device. Installing a different browser usually won't change how pages look either, because browsers on iPhone and iPad share the same underlying engine as Safari.
Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Samsung Internet Android
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Tap your profile picture at the top right.
- Tap Manage apps & device, then Updates available.
- Find your browser and tap Update.
Samsung Internet may also update through the Galaxy Store on Samsung phones.
Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and other browsers Any device
These are built on the same foundation as Chrome, so our store generally works in them. Look for About in the browser's own menu to check for updates, or update the app through the App Store or Play Store on a phone.
If a page still misbehaves, try it in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari before contacting us — that tells us whether the problem is the browser or our site.
Older computers and phones
Sometimes the browser is as current as the device allows.
Windows 10
Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 10 in October 2025. Paid and enrolled extended security updates run through October 13, 2026. Chrome and Firefox still support Windows 10 and haven't announced an end date, and Microsoft has said Edge will keep updating on Windows 10 until at least October 2028. Our store should work normally for now — keep your browser updated, and plan on newer hardware or Windows 11 eventually.
Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
Browsers have stopped shipping updates for these versions. Chrome's last release for them was version 109, in early 2023, and Firefox's was the 115 ESR release. Parts of our store may not work, and there's no browser update that will fix it. You'll need a newer computer or a newer version of Windows.
Older Macs
If your Mac can't run the current macOS, Safari has gone as far as it can. Chrome and Firefox sometimes still support slightly older macOS versions than the newest Safari does, so one of those is worth trying.
Older iPhones and iPads
Safari's version is tied to iOS, and every browser on iPhone and iPad uses the same underlying engine. If the device can't take a newer iOS, another browser won't render our pages differently. Ordering by phone or on a different device may be the simpler path — see below.
Work, church, or school computers
If your browser is managed by an IT department, update buttons and settings may be greyed out or missing. Your administrator controls updates on that machine, so ask them — or try again on a personal device.
What we support
Our store is built and tested for the two most recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, plus Samsung Internet on Android. Older versions may still work, but we can't promise every page and the checkout will behave correctly.
Still stuck? We'll help.
Use the Copy details for support button at the top of this page and paste the result into your message. It tells us exactly what you're using, which usually saves a round of questions.
Then contact our support team or email odb@odb.org. Tell us what you were trying to do and what happened instead.
