About this item

“Our humanity is not something theoretical to God; he personally experienced what it’s like to be us.” —Ryan Lokkesmoe

When your faith feels disconnected from your day-to-day reality, this insightful exploration of Jesus’s everyday human life will bring you hope and comfort. With pastoral warmth and fascinating historical details, Ryan Lokkesmoe invites you into the different areas of Jesus’s ordinary humanity:

  • His childhood and home life
  • His work life and finances
  • His physical and emotional well-being
  • His cultural and political contexts
  • His weekly and yearly religious rhythms

We usually focus on Jesus’s miracles, His masterful teaching, and His world-changing death and resurrection. But what about the unremarkable moments of His life? What about Jesus coming home after a long day at work, navigating a family argument, or going to a friend’s wedding?

As you enlarge your view of Jesus, you’ll see how He walked with wisdom and grace through experiences remarkably similar to your own. He knows what it’s like to be one of us. You can bring your difficulties to Him, confident that He genuinely understands and empathizes.

With thoughtful questions for group study, this book is perfect to share with anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with Jesus.

Also available as an eBook and audiobook from your favorite digital retailer.
